Hello,

I just bought the E7 Ergometer and I've connected trough an ordinary USB cable in order to test the the demo version of KWT. I have installed the USB driver (Win 7).
The ergometer is recognized as RX7/X7, everything seems working fine except the speed is totally wrongly displayed (at around 100 rpm it displays a speed of 10-12 Km/h, instead the bike's displayed speed, around 30 km/h).

I have tried with KWT 1.1.3 and 1.1.5.1 with no success. The ergometer has the USB port on the back of the display.
My ergometer is not compatible with the software ?

You have to use the 1.1.5.1 exp version =(KETTLER WORLD TOURS 1.1 Patch 1.1.5.1 for elektronic SI-SJ-SK with USB connection on the front panel).

In KWT the speed shown on the PC is right.

Every KWT user has different speed indications Ergo display -> and PC (KWT).
The speed shown in KWT = PC depends on reality factor settings, gear settings and the track, user weight etc......
I suppose in your case you were riding uphill with high reality factor and rr-gear?
The display on the Ergo doesn't know the KWT track and settings.
For the ergo display everything is flat. So when the track in KWT have a lot of gradients up -> the displayed ergo speed is much higher.And downhill vice versa.
So please don't care about the speed displayed on your ergo -> just ignore it. To compare with the reality outdoor try a reality factor from 80 to 100%.

if you were riding on a total flat course and with 100 RPM you only had a Spped of 12 then semething was wrong?

Try the exp version of KWT 1.1.5.1.

thank you very much for your answer. Indeed that difference of speed is on a flat course with no gradients. Pedaling at high rpm results in a very slow speed and sadly it's totally unrealistic: in a route near my home of 7 km, 2/3 half flat and 1/3 with 10-12 % step, it took me 35 minutes, in real life it's 15-20 minutes ! I have tried playing with different reality factors and the "automatic gear" setting, but the difference remains.

I already use the patch 1.1.5.1, will the situation got better if I buy the full version with the manual gear selector ? If it's like this I'm not very motivated to buy the software, which is not for sure cheap !

I must say that on the "fitness" or "sport" programs the speed it's correctly reported, so even if the model is not recognized, I think the problem is like you said the "reality factor". Would be nice to have this obscure setting better explained in the manual, or maybe some tutorial on how to "calibrate" the performance !

@KWT Patch 1.1.5.1 there exist 2 Patch versions.i think You have to install the Patch = KWTPatch1151exp.msi and not KWTPatch1151.msi! You can find this patch above not under Demo!

Do you use the PC keyboard during training? You have to use arrow up or down for shifting -> even in automtic mode.
I suppose you have always stucked in 1st Gear.
For automatic mode use set maximum watt to 200 before training.

Can you create for me a csv.file of your faulty trainings?
This would help a lot in troubleshooting.

How to create such a file with KWT:
1. After training "save" your training
2. Close training wndow. -> menue -> click analysis -> choose a faulty training ->wait a few seconds -> click export -> choose a folder for saving -> save the csv file.

->Add here your CSV File as attachment in your thread.

For example see my enclosed csv. the csv file can be opened with excel.

Hi teox76,

when KWT is detecting your device you got the correct patch and even if it recognize your device as X7 you don't need the "exp" Patch.

For KWT the X7/RX7/E7 are handled in the same way.
I will ask kettler whats wrong with the name.

The speed problem is caused by the gearset in animation mode. You start in gear 1 and can change this with the up/down arrows from your keyboard.

In user settings you can select which gearset to use. If the racing set is selected the speed should be same in gear 8.

You can also select an automatic gearshifting which is for Demo version the best choice because you dont need the keyboard all the time. With automatic you can change the target performance (Watt) with the up/down arrows in training.

The reality factor has no influence to the speed differences. With the reality factor you can select how difficult the animation training should be.

There is no way for KWT to set speed in the display of your device.

Can you tell me the Device ID in the configuration window?

The device id appears in the devicelist in the last column and in the detection under the device name selection.

Hello Wolfgang, I made some tests this weekend and you are right, if I set the gear to 8, the speed of the bike display and the one in KWT is exactly the same ! So I guess if I buy the full version with the hardware gear keys, the "feeling" should get better.
And yes the reality factor has impact only on how hard is to go uphill...at 100% even the slightest slope becomes the Alp d'Huez (at least for me) !

I will get back to you in the evening for the device ID.
